Where can I buy large glass jars for preserving olives?
Published 1 year, 10 months ago in Eat & Drink.The olives are in abundance here in the shops of Thornbury and I am keen to preserve some for later on this year. Only trouble is I can’t find any big glass jars. Does anyone know of any shops that sell them?

What about using small glass jars?
Hey Edna,
don’t buy them. Get onto Melbourne freedycle. It’s an email group of people who have stuff to get rid of and stuff they want. There’s a Melbourne-wide group, a group in Knox, Warranbool, Geelong and Werribee. Signing up means you get HEAPS of emails but you will almost certainly find all the jars you want.
have a look in op shops they often have big preserving jars.
advertise in your local letter box drop by asking people to put there old jars out for you on a special pickup day then collect thats how my wife does it for her craft market pickles it works then you pickout the jars suited to your product and put the rest in res/bin i know this is a bit off work but it works good luck
Safeway sell preserving jars if you don’t mind paying for them!
